Why Do Companies Need Oscott Air Alert?

Reducing costs makes companies more competitive in an increasingly challenging global market. The ALERT system is an effective answer to recent industry research, which concluded that the operating costs of running multiple compressed air installations without some form of management control could be more than 30% higher than they should be. Compressed air is produced using electricity, its generation being equivalent to about 10% of industry’s total electricity usage, rising to 30% in some sectors. This highlights why companies have compelling reasons to investigate the potential for energy saving in this area.

The Oscott Air Alert System: how it works

Compressed Air Monitoring and Compressed Air Analysis1) Compressor Control System - controls target system pressure within fine limits to reduce generating costs, and ensure that the most efficient compressors (irrespective of manufacture or type) are employed in the most efficient combination to suit a given demand.

2) Compressor Monitoring - monitors such factors as common alarms, oil temperature, condition of rolling bearings (from installed bearing condition sensors) and service due conditions i.e. the elapsed time as defined by the original equipment supplier.

3) System Monitoring - extends the scope of the Oscott Air management control system by including the monitoring of equipment such as dryers and filters which condition the air quality to the pipe work system that delivers it. In addition, expansion modules also enable condition monitoring of supporting compressor house equipment such as water pumps and fans to be undertaken, along with compressor house and ambient temperatures.

4) Enersoft Control, Monitoring and Visualisation Software - delivers a complete compressed air supervisory, control and optimization solution. The software enables plant supervisors to remotely monitor and routinely review system performance, identifying and implementing operational cost reductions and quality improvements direct from a PC screen.

5) Remote Alert Services - provides users with the benefits of a round the clock system condition monitoring and automated response, including alarm management. The communications feature also enables “7-day spot” efficiency reports to be downloaded from the system, and delivered to the user, via E-mail, in a popular and easy to use PDF file format.
